Welcome to Toddlerhood

Apparently sliced peaches are no longer a food of choice. Same goes for cheerios, and many of the veggies that just weeks ago were eaten with vigor.

Welcome to the wacky world of toddlerhood. I’ve heard that it’s possible for a child to survive on ice cream and mac-n-cheese. Good thing, that.

Fall turns to winter…

A little earlier than usual, we have our first snow today. Of course, the snow is only sticking to the grass (the roads are just wet), so it’s not too terribly dramatic, but still, it doesn’t usually snow until around Halloween.

I just talked to my folks, up in Monument, and they actually have a FOOT of snow on the ground, plus snow-covered roads. Amazing what 1000 feet of elevation will do.

Suburbia…who knew?

It’s official; next month, I move away from the “West Side” of Colorado Springs, into a house in the burbs. As much as I love the old homes in the North End downtown, I have to admit that having something that isn’t 100 years old (even 30 like my condo) and in constant need to repair/remodel is *very* appealing.

So far, the folks I’ve met in the new neighborhood seem great — around my age and with younger children. Who knew I’d so soon join the cast of Desperate Housewives? Well, minus the “wife” part, anyway…

Maya will finally have her own room. How much she’ll actually sleep in it remains to be seen.

Girlie Hair

A friend of mine informed me that it was high time that I learned to “do” girlie hair. It’s not much for a start, but then, Maya doesn’t exactly have a full head of hair, either!
